Yanbu industrial city, 350km north from Jeddah, has become the third largest oil refinery center in the world. It can produce more than 1.1 million barrels of oil every day and its yearly industrial production capacity reaches 131 million tons. Marafiq’s Yanbu 2 facility helps meet demand in the Yanbu area with a power capacity of 600MW , 60,000 m3/day of desalinated water and 9.9 million m3/day seawater cooling supply to Yanbu 2 industrial city.
Our scope was the marine facilities and the 18km pipeline network supplying the cooling seawater. We implemented the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning of the civil, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation works for the seawater intake facility and associated pumping station, pressurized and gravity GRP pipelines, seawater discharge channel and outfall, electro-chlorination plant and pump house and associated buildings, utilities and roads.
