Archirodon completed one of the worlds’ largest rock-cutting operations (15.8 million m3 earthworks) in Zirku Island after Panama Canal and the Three Gorges Dam, whereas the complete extension of the runway was done into the sea on reclaimed land.

The Zirku Island, located 135 km north-west of Abu Dhabi's shore, is considered the main industrial base for the processing, storage and export of oil from the Upper Zakum, Umm Al-Dalkh and Satah fields.

Archirodon performed the Engineering, Procurement & Construction for 15.8 million m3 of earthworks, jetty and seawater intake, coastal protection works to facilitate ADMA-OPCO's offshore oil field and accommodate related facilities.

The extension of Zirku Island runway by 720m was also part of this EPC contract.
